Geoffrey is a seasoned social development practitioner with over 25 years of work experience in both humanitarian and development sectors. He has specialized in supporting vulnerable groups and advocating for social justice, and has led and supported delivery of high impact programs and projects across Eastern and Central Africa, working with high-profile INGOs. His professional experience spans several key areas: Safeguarding & PSEA systems — including policy development, SOPs, reporting, investigations, and survivor-centred case management; Child Protection & Child Rights-based Programming — covering child protection systems, alternative care, children on the move, and child participation; and Risk, Compliance & Investigations — encompassing survivor-centred case management and SEAH/Safeguarding investigations, safeguarding risk assessments and mitigation planning, and safe programming.
Geoffrey has also been instrumental in embedding safeguarding frameworks and minimum standards across organizations, including the development and socialisation of PSEAH/safeguarding policy frameworks, SOPs, and best practice guidelines. Within Institutional Capacity Strengthening & Training, he has developed and delivered impactful ToTs, staff awareness and dialogue sessions, safeguarding focal point training, community awareness and engagement, and partner due diligence and capacity systems strengthening. He engages with strategic leaders, middle managers, and technical specialists to ensure safeguarding is embedded into programmes and operations, and brings additional expertise in Operations & Programme Quality — including MEL, finance oversight, logistics coordination, and emergency response integration. He holds an MA in Economic and Social Studies from the University of Manchester and a BA in Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University. His additional professional qualifications include Safeguarding Essentials (Oxfam, 2023), Safeguarding Focal Point Training (Oxfam, 2020), Foundations of SEAH Investigations (DisasterReady/CHS Alliance, 2025), and Investigator Qualification Training Scheme Tier 2 (Humentum, 2025).
